This is a list of hotfixes and new features available in this version
Safari Support for SquadCast
- SquadCast by Descript is now supported on Safari Browsers for Conferences and Recordings!
Individualized Cloud Recordings with Video & Audio Tracks
- All conferences will now record an individualized Video and Audio Track for each participant.
- These tracks will be a Raw Webm Track that will need some post-process to render properly but give customers full track coverage.
Coming Soon! Descript Rooms
- A few weeks ago, we introduced Descript Rooms, a remote recording tool that will live right inside Descript. Building on our extensive experience with SquadCast, Rooms will give you:
- Consistent reliability
- High-quality 4K recording
- Easy integration with Descript's editing tools

What's Leaving?
- Green Room changes: The network speed test will no longer be available, and you won't be able to see who's already joined a call before you enter.
- Farewell to some features: We’re retiring Backstage and Stats for Nerds. Existing Backstage links will now lead users to the Green Room, where they will be visible and audible in the main studio. As always, you can easily edit that stuff out in Descript.
Other Hot-fixes
- Fixed an issue where some Edit in Descript Files would be out of sync in the Descript Editor.
- Fixed an issue where starting a recording would lower the quality of the conversation
